Research notes
A retreat in the Algarve reworks a cluster of familiar domestic forms around a sloping site and outdoor living spaces.
A group of connected volumes
Atelier Rua's Casa Um interprets the white walls, terracotta and linked building forms associated with the Algarve. Rather than presenting one uninterrupted block, it develops a series of connected spaces with views toward the surrounding vegetation and coast. The published project is accommodation within The Addresses collection.
Read the setting beyond the furnishings
Compare the archways, changes of level and spaces beside the pool with the interior rooms. Their relationship to the slope and planted surroundings explains more about the architecture than a furniture close-up alone. Historic publication as accommodation does not establish current availability, prices or access arrangements.
What the sources do not establish
- A verified completion year is not established in the reviewed sources.
